Q: My family is having difficulty making ends meet financially; what resources are available to help me and my family here on Fort Bragg?
A: For long-term financial assistance, Fort Bragg has the Financial Readiness Program. They are able to assist with: One-on-one financial counseling, Blended Retirement System (BRS), Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), Educational workshops on money management, proper use of credit, insurance and investing for Soldiers and Family members, On-post Home-Based Business approvals, and Solicitation permits.
For short-term financial assistance, there is the Army Emergency Relief. It can help cover emergency expenses such as: non-receipt of pay, medical expenses, funeral expenses, emergency travel, rent, food and utilities.
Q: My spouse is going to be away due to a mission/deployment/TDY, what programs are out there for me and my family?
A: Fort Bragg has a couple of programs that are specifically designed to help families that are separated due to a mission/deployment/TDY. Mobilization, Deployment and Stability Support Operations provides training to assist Soldiers and Families prepare for separations due to mission requirements. The other program/location is the Soldier & Family Readiness Group Center.
